Hi, I am You-Chia Chen, a multidisciplinary designer from Taiwan.

I am passionate about experimental textile design, surface design and geometrical structures.

My works are mainly textile and object design, which focused on studying the materials-human relationship.
 

I believe that physical interactions can engage the relationship between humans and objects in a more profound way. Through researching and interpreting the beauty in materials, I want to open up the hidden surprises in detail to those who encounter my design.​ The solid knowledge of three-year experiences in a textile mill inclines me to start my journey of researching experimental textiles.  As a hands-on designer, making gives me much enjoyment while the processes are always surprising me. For me, every accident that happened in the process is the best inspiration for a designer.  

After graduating from MA at Aalto University in 2021, I work as an independent textile/ furniture designer in Helsinki, Finland.
